My visit today 01-Dec-09 (December 1, 2009, 03:36:08 PM)
I quiet settled, but cold afternoon was a pleasant change considering recent weather. Water levels on the reserve have picked up with a good flow now present in the paddock stream! The pathway approaching the Teal Hide boardwalk is now semi submerged so wellington boots would be advisable if considering visiting this area. At the Clubhouse bird feeders the Marsh Tit again put in an appearance as did 2 Ring-necked Parakeets. At Lynsters Farm the cattle field has a few flooded areas where Canadian & Greylag Geese were busily feeding and were accompanied by 4 Meadow Pipits. On leaving the Shell Hide 2 Egyptian Geese flew in over the Long Hedge and landed on the Farm.

great to know the water si coming bakc, although it seems to be in the wrong places. Don't be put off visiting though because of the mud - the piles of branches lying around are to be turned into chippings on saturday (weather permitting) to cover our wet areas!!! Lets hope the wet weather has put off the woldfowlers on lynsters and the geese might decide to hang around a bit longer. Slightly off the reserve there was a flock of 40-50 fieldfares in the hawthorn hedge by the roundabout at the weekend.
