[Watford RSPB] The Watford Members group of the RSPB formed in 1974, and exists to further the RSPB's national objectives within our local community. The Group maintains activities which enables members to enjoy learning more about birds in Britain and abroad and to see birds in a wide variety of habitats in the company of fellow enthusiasts.
We extend a very warm welcome to anyone interested in bird protection and conservation, whether keen "birders", determined "twitchers" or with more general interests.
[Colne Valley Birding with Steve Carter] Steve Carter has provided our web-site with a number of his photographs taken on the Maple Lodge Nature Reserve. Join him on his journey, with touching first hand shots of some of the most amazing Wildlife from the UK and other countries of the world.
[Colne Valley Regional Park] The Colne Valley provides the first significant area of countryside to the west of London. It is a mosaic of farmland, woodland and water, with fifty miles of river and canal and over forty lakes. It is a living, working environment, providing employment and homes for many people. It is also a special place, regionally important for recreation and internationally important for wildlife. Much of the land is privately owned, however, large areas are open to the public or accessible through a network of paths.
The Visitor Centre, located in Denham near Uxbridge, is the central information point for the whole of the Colne Valley Regional Park. The centre currently has 30,000 visitors a year and is staffed by volunteers.
[TheNuttery] We have received extremely generous donations of bird food and bird feeders from a Rickmansworth based company, The Nuttery. You may know them from many local garden centres and they are best known for their Squirrel Proof Bird Feeders.
[Martin Parr's Nauture Pics] Martin, a recent member of Maple Lodge Conservation Society has been building his site since Sept 2006. His aim is to get the best pictures he can of as many species as possible - birds, insects, animals and plants.
